Le 12 janvier, dans le cadre du Festival de danse Bouge d'ici, nous avons eu le plaisir de dessiner Natasha Perry the China Doll. Notre modèle spectaculaire nous a transporté vers l'Orient, plus précisement, vers la Chine.

On January 12, as part of the Bouge d'ici Dance Festival, we had the pleasure of drawing Natasha Perry the China Doll. Our spectacular model transported us towards the Orient, more specifically, towards China.

Les couleurs étaient vibrantes, les accessoires nombreux et la modèle fantastique. Nous n'avons certainement pas manqué d'inspiration ce jour-là!

The colours were vibrant, the accessories were many and our model was fantastic. We sure didn't run out of inspiration that day!

Nous avons même eu la chance de voir un numéro de danse traditionnelle JingJu!

We even had the chance to see a traditional JingJu dance performance!

Après la pause, le plaisir a continué avec un deuxième costume. Il était tout aussi scintillant que le premier, mais un peu plus dévoilant! Woohoo!

After the break, the fun continued with a second costume. It was just as sparkly as the first, but a bit more revealing! Woohoo!

Les artistes étaient venus en grand nombre et ils ont eu de quoi remplir leurs cahiers à dessins!

The artists had come in big numbers and they sure had enough to fill their sketchbooks with!

Session #66 - China Girl

Dr. Sketchy Montreal invites you to its next event: China Girl. During the Bouge d'ici Dance Festival, we will have the pleasure of drawing Natasha Perry the China Doll, who will transport us to the Orient.

Also, you will have the opportunity to see a traditional JingJu dance performance, as well as a chance to win a pass to the Bouge d'ici Dance Festival!

The session will take place on Saturday, January 12, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the MainLine Theatre, 3997 St-Laurent Blvd. The cover will be $10 and don’t forget your sketchbook.

Fun fact: Natasha Perry the China Doll has even performed JingJu in China!

Six jours avant la fin du monde selon le calendrier maya, soit le 15 décembre, nous avons tenu notre séance Artmageddon. Notre jolie modèle, Delvida Douglas, a posé en survivante dans un monde post-apocalytique!

Six days before the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar, on December 15, we hosted Artmageddon. Our lovely model, Delvida Douglas, posed as a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world.

Masque à gaz, épée et autres, ce n'est pas moi qui désirerait la confronter!

Gas mask, sword, I sure wouldn't be the one to take on this Dame!

 

Pour la seconde partie, Delvida Douglas a posé dans un deuxième costume, celui-ci grandement inspiré des films Mad Max.

Étant amateurs de Last Night par Don McKellar, nous avons terminé la séance sur Guantanamera, la chanson sur laquelle le monde prend fin dans le film...

Cette semaine, l'équipe de Dr. Sketchy Montréal fut triste d'apprendre que le Théâtre MainLine, un théâtre indépendant à but non lucratif et l'espace oû nous tenons nos séances Dr. Sketchy, est en danger de fermer ses portes. 

Ils ont lancé une levée de fonds et nous essayons de les aider de toute façon possible. Ils ont soutenu Dr. Sketchy grandement durant les cinq dernières années, de même que de nombreux autres artistes, autant locaux qu'internationaux.

Pendant longtemps, le Théâtre MainLine était LA place pour le burlesque à Montréal.

This week, Dr. Sketchy Montreal's team was very sad to find out that the MainLine Theatre, a non-profit indie theatre and our Dr. Sketchy venue, is in danger of closing its doors.

They have launched a fundraiser and we are trying to help them in any way that we can. They have supported us greatly over the last five years, as well as countless other artists, both local and international.

For a long time, the MainLine Theatre was THE burlesque venue in Montreal.

Dr. Sketchy Montreal invites you to its next event: Artmageddon. It has been predicted that the world will end on December 21, 2012. What will life be like if there are survivors? Come find out while drawing the wonderful Delvida Douglas during this post-apocalyptic session!

This could well be the last Dr. Sketchy! The session will take place on Saturday, December 15 (six days before the end!), from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the MainLine Theatre, 3997 St-Laurent Blvd. The cover will be $10 and don’t forget your sketchbook.

Il faisait peut-être froid au Défilé du Père Noël, mais le 17 novembre, il a fait bien chaud au Théâtre MainLine grâce à notre séance Queen of the Nile! La ravissante Angelique A'Llure a posé pour nous en Cléopâtre. Puis quelle reine se présenterait sans être accompagnée de ses beaux esclaves!

It may have been cold at the Santa Claus Parade, but on November 17, it was pretty hot in the MainLine Theatre thanks to our Queen of the Nile session! The ravishing Angelique A'Llure posed for us as Cleopatra. And what queen would not come accompanied by her handsome slaves!
